Vine died unexpectedly on October 27, 2016 at the age of three.
Vine is survived by its father, Twitter. It is also survived by its many successful stars that have become some of the most famous social media influencers in the world including Logan Paul, Brittany Furlan, and King Bach, among hundreds of others.
Vine was born on January 24, 2013. It quickly shot to fame as one of the most popular social media platforms. Over 39 million six-second Vine videos have been uploaded to the platform, and it boasted an average of 200 million active users each month.
In lieu of flowers and casseroles, please leave a link to your favorite video from the beloved social media platform below in the comments. We hope that Freestyle’s picks for our favorite six-second wonders will help with the grieving process.
Christina Newcomb, Digital Marketing Strategist
“Vine – I owe everything to you. You have developed my humor, my understanding of the human race, and most importantly, the ability to turn my friend’s words into a Vine reference. We shared many inside jokes, and for that I am forever thankful. I’ll speak fondly of you to my future grandchildren.”
Vahid Farzaneh, Founder and CEO
“Just as I get into Vine, you gotta go and die!”
Becca Nance, Public Relations Intern
“Dear Vine, I’m so sorry for our loss. You had a great run. See you on some other social media platform.”
Macy Muirhead, Videography Intern
“I will miss cackling maniacally with you until 3 a.m. when I should be doing other things like being a functional adult. Fly high, little buddy.”
