Katie serves as an account lead for Freestyle and creates an environment where clients feel welcome and their ideas heard. She is task and detail oriented although she often takes a step back to look at the big picture. As a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and former tour guide, she has close ties with the university and is well-versed in all things OU!
Katie is constantly exploring Oklahoma, appreciating everything about it. She serves on the Cork & Canvas Committee for Positive Tomorrows, Oklahoma’s only elementary school for homeless children and attends Frontline Church in Downtown OKC where she and her fiancé serve on Kitchen Crew and are a part of The Bruner’s community group. She finds herself binge watching Shark Tank with her roommates or traveling to Tulsa to visit family. Katie can quote New Girl, The Office or Parks and Rec. “I can do this all day, Winston. All day!” “I’m not superstitious…. just a little-stitious.” “Zerts are what I call desserts. Air conditioners are cool blasters. Chicken parm is chicky chicky parm parm.” — Just to name a few.
What is your favorite thing about your city?
I have called Oklahoma City home since July 2016 and the best thing by far has been Downtown in December. The entire city is ‘lit’ for the holidays and snickerdoodle hot cocoa from Katie Bugs flows like lava. The Holiday Pop-Up Shops take first place though. Little igloos sit in the heart of Midtown where local shops change out every week. It’s a dream!
What is a little-known fact about you?
I have been known to write parody songs for birthdays and celebrations. I’m not sure if other people find them clever, but I perform them like they are!
What is the most adventurous thing you have done?
My best friend and Freshman year roommate went skydiving with me right before we started at OU. It was a gift for my 18th birthday!
